Tesselaar Freesia’s

Tesselaars Freesia‘s solar thermal field provides 5000 megawatts of heat, completely eliminating the use of gas. It is the latest step towards sustainability and has never been implemented on this scale before. The sun heats the water that flows through the panels, keeping the greenhouses at the right temperature. The large fields use Glycol in the system. As the system uses water, there there‘s no risk of chemical contamination of the soil in the event of a leak. In addition to the reduction in CO2, there is also a major reduction in pesticide use against botrytis. It is a unique and sustainable concept that allows me to deliver my end product, the freesias, a lot greener.
